The Sequin Kay NFT Collection

Crystal, colour and sacred geometry, now written onto the blockchain.

A New Chapter

For years the work of Sequin Kay has lived in Swarovski crystal, in pigment, in thread and in sculpture. Pieces that catch the light differently every hour of the day, exhibited in Dubai, Bodrum, London and Ibiza.

Something is now being added to that practice rather than replacing it. The Sequin Kay NFT range brings the same symbolism, the same zodiac language and the same devotion to beauty into a digital form that can be owned, collected and passed on.

Each release is limited. Each piece is signed by the artist on chain. Every collector becomes part of a small circle that grows with the collection.

First Release: Pixel Portraits

✨ Pixel Portraits ✨

Every portrait begins with a face, but ends as a story.

My Pixel Portraits collection explores the meeting point between traditional portraiture and the digital world. Reducing an image to thousands of individual pixels reminds us that, just like people, we are all made up of countless small moments, memories, and experiences that together create something unique.

As an artist working across painting, crystals, and digital art, NFTs allow me to experiment freely while creating work that can be collected anywhere in the world. They become part of my artistic archive, documenting the evolution of my practice as technology and creativity continue to merge.

When you purchase one of my NFTs, you’re doing far more than buying a digital artwork.

You’re supporting an independent artist’s ability to keep creating, experimenting, and taking risks. You’re helping fund future collections, exhibitions, and ambitious projects that might never exist without collectors who believe in the journey as much as the finished work.

Every collector becomes part of that story.

Thank you to everyone who has supported my work -whether through a painting, a print, an NFT, or simply by sharing what I create. It all makes a difference.

✨ Explore the Pixel Portraits collection and become part of the journey.

With love,

Sequin Kay ✨

What Is an NFT?

If this is new to you, you are in good company. Here is the short version, without the jargon.

NFT stands for non fungible token. Think of it as a certificate of ownership that lives on a public, permanent digital ledger called a blockchain.

When you buy a physical painting, you receive the canvas and, ideally, a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. An NFT works on the same principle. You receive the artwork file, and alongside it a record that says this specific edition belongs to this specific person. That record cannot be forged, quietly altered or lost in a house move.

A few things worth knowing:

  • You genuinely own it. The record sits in your wallet, not on a company's server. It is yours to keep, gift or resell.

  • The provenance is public. Anyone can trace a piece back to the moment the artist created it. Every previous owner is visible. For art, that is remarkable.

  • The artist stays connected to the work. Most collections, including this one, are set up so a royalty returns to the artist each time a piece is resold. Your support continues long after the first purchase.

  • Editions are genuinely limited. When the collection says fifty, it means fifty. The blockchain enforces it.

You do not need to understand the technology to enjoy the art, any more than you need to understand pigment chemistry to love a painting. But it helps to know that what you are buying is real, scarce and verifiably yours.

How to Buy on OpenSea

OpenSea is the largest marketplace for digital art and collectables. It works a little like an online gallery combined with an auction house. Here is the process, start to finish.

1. Set up a crypto wallet

A wallet is simply the place your art and funds live. It is free to create and takes a few minutes.

The most widely used options are MetaMask and Coinbase Wallet. Both are available as a browser extension or a phone app. Download from the official website only, never from a link sent to you.

During setup you will be given a recovery phrase, usually twelve or twenty four words. Write it down on paper and store it somewhere safe and private. Do not photograph it, do not store it in your emails, and never share it with anyone. Nobody legitimate will ever ask for it. This phrase is the only way back into your wallet if you lose your device.

2. Add some funds

Most art on OpenSea is priced in ETH (Ethereum). You can buy ETH through an exchange such as Coinbase or Kraken, then send it to your wallet address.

Alternatively, OpenSea offers a card payment option at checkout for many listings, which handles the conversion for you. Slightly higher fees, considerably less faff.

Allow a little extra beyond the price of the artwork to cover network fees, known as gas. These vary with demand and are usually modest.

3. Connect to OpenSea

Go to opensea.io and select Connect Wallet in the top corner. Choose your wallet and approve the connection when prompted.

Always type the address in yourself or use a bookmark. Fake marketplaces are the most common way people get caught out.

4. Find the collection

Open the Pixel Portraits link above, or search for Sequin Kay on OpenSea. Check the collection page carefully before buying. Verified collections are marked, and the official link on this page will always take you to the right place.

5. Choose your piece

Browse the collection and select the portrait that speaks to you. Each listing shows the price, the edition number and the full ownership history.

You will see one of two options:

  • Buy Now. A fixed price. Click, confirm in your wallet, done.

  • Make Offer. Propose your own price. The seller can accept, decline or leave it standing.

6. Confirm

Your wallet will pop up asking you to approve the transaction, showing the artwork price plus the gas fee. Read it, approve it, and wait a moment while the network confirms.

The piece then appears in your wallet and under your OpenSea profile. It is yours.

A note on staying safe

  • Only ever use the official links published on this page or on the Sequin Kay Instagram.

  • Nobody from Sequin Kay Art will ever contact you first asking for your recovery phrase, your private keys or a payment sent directly to a personal wallet.

  • If an offer feels rushed or too good to be true, step away and check with us.
